    S A F E T Y PRE-RIDE SAFETY CHECK Get to know the feel of your Travel Scooter and its capabilities. Pride recommends that you perform a safety check before each use to make sure your Travel Scooter operates smoothly and safely.

However, Pride recognizes that there will be times when you will encounter other surface types. For this reason, your Travel Scooter is designed to perform admirably on packed soil, grass, and gravel.

  • Page 14 MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSPORT Pride recommends that you do not remain seated in your Travel Scooter while traveling in a motor vehicle. The Travel Scooter should be stowed in the trunk of a car or in the back of a truck or van with the batteries removed and properly secured.
  • Page 15 Bending to the side while seated creates the risk of tipping. It is important to maintain a stable center of gravity and keep the Travel Scooter from tipping. Pride recommends that the Travel Scooter user determine his/her personal limitations and practice bending and reaching in the presence of a qualified attendant.

Motor/Transaxle Assembly The motor/transaxle assembly is an electromechanical unit that converts electrical energy from your Travel Scooter’s batteries into the controlled mechanical energy that drives the Travel Scooter’s wheels.

You may also need to have your authorized Pride Provider perform a load test on your Travel Scooter’s batteries. !     PROHIBITED! Do not allow unsupervised children to play near the Travel Scooter while the batteries are charging. Pride recommends that you do not charge the batteries while the Travel Scooter is occupied.

  • Page 24 For the safest and most efficient charging of your Travel Scooter’s batteries, we recommend use of the charger supplied as original equipment with your Pride product only. Any charging method resulting in batteries being charged individually is especially prohibited.
  • Page 25 NOTE: Sealed batteries are not serviceable. Do not remove the caps. How do I change the batteries in my Travel Scooter? WARNING! Contact your Pride Provider if you have any questions regarding the batteries in your Travel Scooter. WARNING! Do not replace the batteries while the Travel Scooter is occupied.

    Your Travel Scooter requires a minimal amount of care and maintenance. If you do not feel confident in your ability to perform the maintenance listed below, you may schedule inspection and maintenance at your authorized Pride Provider. The following areas require periodic inspection and/or care and maintenance.

Have your authorized Pride Provider repair or replace any damaged connector, connection, or insulation that you find before using your Travel Scooter again.
