When you connect your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet to your BlackBerry smartphone using BlackBerry® Bridge™, your saved
Wi‐Fi® profiles and VPN profiles are automatically synchronized between your tablet and smartphone to make connecting to
the networks you use easier. Then, when you use your tablet in a Wi‐Fi coverage area where you've previously used your
smartphone, your tablet automatically connects to the access point.
For security reasons, Wi‐Fi profiles and VPN profiles that are associated with a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server are not
synchronized. Passwords for secure networks are also not synchronized.
The order and how quickly your smartphone or tablet attempts to connect to a network is determined by the priority level of a
profile. By default, profiles that connect directly from either a tablet or a smartphone have a high‐priority level. Profiles that
are synchronized through BlackBerry Bridge have priority level 0 (the lowest level). You can change your network profiles on
your tablet to increase or decrease the priority, or to add other information, such as passwords for secure networks.
If a profile requires a client authentication certificate, you must import the certificate manually.
To help protect your organization's data, when you use BlackBerry® Bridge™ to connect your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet to a
smartphone that uses a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server, the following security restrictions apply:
• You can open files on your smartphone only through the BlackBerry Bridge Files application, or from an email attachment.
• You can't save files that you create on your tablet onto your smartphone.
• You can browse your organization's intranet only if your administrator has turned on corporate intranet browsing.
