Cleaning the pickup lens
The DVD player's lens should not become
dirty in normal use, but If for some reason it
should malfunction
due to dust or dirt,
consult your nearest Pioneer-authorized
service center. Although
lens cleaners for CD
players are commercrally
avarIable. we do
not recotnmend
using them srnce some may
damage the lens.
Problems with condensation
Condensation
may form inside the player if It
is brought into a warm Iroom from outside, ot
if the temperature
of the
t-o0111
rises quickly.
Although the condensation
won't damage
tlie player, it may temporarily
impair its
performance.
For this reason you should
leave it to adjust to the warmer temperature
for about an hour before switchrng on and
using.
Hints on installation
We want you to enjoy using this unit for
years to come, so please bear rn mind the
followrng points when choosing a suitable
location for it:

as a table, shelf or stereo rack.

Moving the player
If you need to move the player, first remove
all discs, then press 6 STANDBY/ON
on the
front panel to turn the player off. Wait for -
OFF- to disappear from the display, then
unplug the power cord. Never lift or move the
unit during playback-discs
rotate at a high
speed and may be damaged.
Power cord caution
Handle the power cord by the plug pat-t. Do
not pull out the plug by tugging the cord,
and never touch the power cord when your
hands are wet, as this could cause a short
circuit or electric shock. Do not place the
unit, a piece of furniture,
or other object on
the power cord or pinch the cord in any other
way. Never make a knot in the cord or tie it
with other cords. The power cords should be
routed so that they are not likely to be
stepped on. A damaged power cord can
cause a fire or give you an electric shock.
Check the power cord once in a while. If you
find It damaged, ask your nearest Pioneer
authorized service center or your dealer for a
replacement.
