16 TROUBLESHOOTING

Check the following before assuming there is a problem with the set.
If this does not solve the problem, there may be a problem with the set. Turn off the power and unplug the power cord, then contact your
store of purchase.
General operation
Symptom
Power does not turn on.
Buttons do not function.
"Reboot!!!" has appeared
momentarily on the monitor display
or has appeared does not turn off.
"!" displayed on the OSD even
when the SELECT button is pressed.
File cannot be played.
Picture playback stops in the middle
or is interrupted.
Recorded medium is not recognized.

Possible problem
AC adapter is not properly connected.
Power switch is set to "OFF".
The key lock mode has been set by serial
command.
An FTP "SITE" command is being executed.
A script file is playing.
Reboot has been executed by serial command.
A prescribed directory has not been created.
File is damaged.
The file format is not one that can be played on
this set.
The recorded medium does not have sufficient
performance (speed) to keep up with the set's
reading speed.
The medium is not formatted.
The format of the medium is not a format
compatible with this set.
If the set's access LED flashes repeatedly and
the medium is not recognized though it is
recognized on a computer, etc., it may be
formatted in NTFS or super floppy format.
Remedy
Check the connection.
Turn on the power switch on the set's rear panel.
Use a serial command to cancel the key lock
mode.
Use an FTP "SITE" command to cancel the key
lock mode.
Press the STOP key for at least 2 seconds to
cancel the script.
Turn the power switch on the set's rear panel off
once, then back on.
Create all the prescribed directories (VIDEO,
AUDIO, PICTURE SCRIPT and AVDATA).
Reformat the recording medium.
The data is lost when the medium is formatted.
Create a file in a format that can be played on this
set.
Use a recommended card.
Use a bit rate lower than the maximum rate (by
"TE" command).
Format the medium.
The data is lost when the medium is formatted.
Use the set's serial control command to format
the medium on the set.
The data is lost when the medium is formatted.
