The X-Terra is capable of using different types
of AA batteries:
1.5 V Alkaline
1.5 V Carbon
1.5 V Lithium (non-rechargeable)
1.2 V NiMH (rechargeable)
1.2 V NiCad (rechargeable)
The adjacent graph is a representation of how
both types of batteries may discharge over
time. How the detector is used will affect how
long the batteries last for.
Rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries will
give a combined voltage above 8 V and
therefore cannot be used with the X-Terra
When the detector battery is low, the speaker
volume limit will be reduced, to save battery
power and extend detecting time.
The headphone volume is not affected.
The use of headphones will increase
battery life.
Overvoltage
If the battery voltage is too high,
(above 8 V) the battery icon will flash
and the detector will shut down.
Full
2 black segments inside the outline.
Half
1 black segment inside the outline.
Low
The icon will begin to flash for
a period of time and there will be
audio announcements every 60
seconds before the detector finally
shuts down.
