Searching Your NOOK

Using the Search Tool

To search for content on your NOOK or on the Web, do this:
1.
Press the NOOK button to visit the Home Screen.
2.
Tap the Search tool at the bottom of the screen.
3.
Type the word or phrase you want to search for, and tap the Return arrow key.
Your NOOK searches for the content and displays a list of search results.
4.
Tap on the result you want to explore.

Configuring the Search Tool

To configure the Search tool, do this:
1.
In the Status Bar, tap the gear icon to open the Quick Settings window.
2.
In the Quick Settings window, tap All Settings.
3.
In the left-hand menu in Settings, tap Applications.
4.
In the list of applications, tap Search.
Your NOOK displays the Search settings screen.
On the Search settings screen, you can make the changes described below.
Selecting Which Types of Content Are Searched
By default, the Search tool on your NOOK searches the following types of content:
Web content (content on public Web sites searchable by search engines)
Apps installed on your NOOK
Contacts
Library, including information about the books, magazines, and newspapers in your Library
Music, including information about artists, albums, and tracks
Shop, including books, magazines, and newspapers available for purchase
Optionally, your NOOK can also search:
OfficeSuite, including document file names
Spotify
To select the types of content you want to search, tap the tick boxes next to the items listed on the Search settings
screen. Your NOOK will search the type of items you select.
Any changes you make take effect right away.
