Cleaning Air Filter
See Figure 15.
A wet or dirty air filter can affect the way the engine starts,
performs, and wears. The air filter should be checked and
cleaned after 5 hours of operation. Inspect and clean more
frequently if used in dusty dirty conditions.
For best performance, the air filter should be replaced every
25 hours or yearly.
To clean the air filter:
1. Loosen the knob on the air filter cover.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Lift the edge of the air filter carefully and peel it out.
4. Wash the air filter with warm, soapy water.
5. Rinse and squeeze to dry.
6. Reinstall the air filter.
Note: Make sure the filter is seated properly inside the
cover. Installing the filter incorrectly will allow dirt to
enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear.
7. Install the air filter cover.
8. Tighten knob to secure.
