10. Power Supply Circuit (Common description to 120 VAC, and 230 VAC)

This supplies 120VAC, or 230VAC for operation from the outside. If is composed of circuits to supply
+5V for control circuits and +24V for printer mechanism and external unit drives.
1) Primary Side Circuit
When the outside power is available, turning the power switch on supplies power to the primary side
composed of SW, F1, C1, NF, and C2. Depending on specifications, 120VAC, and 230VAC are produced
among the transformers 1 to 3.
Parts for AC codes, F1, and TR vary with input specifications.
AC100V
AC120V
AC230V
2) Secondary Side +24V Circuit
Turning the switch on outputs about 28VAC between 10 and 11 of the secondary side of the transformer.
28VAC is rectified and smoothed by DS1 and C5, and +24V is output through IC1 (M5231TL), Tr1, R1,
R1, C6, R2, R3, R4, C7, and C8.
3) Secondary Side +5V Circuit
About 8.5VAC is produced between 6 and 7 of the secondary side of the transformer. 8.5VAC is rectified
and smoothed by DS2 and C9, and +5V is output through C11, C12, and the three-terminal regulater of
IC2 (µPD2405HF).
