13. BRAKE
Removal
Caution
Brake pads must be replaced as a set.
Remove brake shoes from the brake panel by
pulling out the brake pads with two hands.
Installation
Apply a thin coat of grease to the brake cam
and the anchor pin.
Hook the brake spring onto the brake cam.
Pull out the brake pads and install them onto
the brake panel. Wipe off the excessive
grease from the brake cam and the anchor pin
after installation.
Slightly grind the brake pad surfaces with
sand-paper to clean the surfaces.
Caution
Braking efficiency will be reduced if
brake pad is contaminated by oil or
grease.
BRAKE PANEL
Removal
Remove the brake arm bolt and then
remove the brake arm, wear indicator,
brake return spring and brake cam as well
as the oil seal from the brake panel.
