CHECKING THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE WARNING
Coolant temperature warning
light does not come on.
Push start switch with
transmission in "neutral".
Coolant temperature
warning light comes on
momentarily.
Coolant temperature and
electrical circuit are OK. Go
ahead with riding.

CHECKING THE V-BELT
1.Remove:
Right footrest board
G
Refer to "FOOTREST BOARDS".
Crankcase cover (right)
G
Refer to "PRIMARY AND SECONDARY
SHEAVES" in CHAPTER 4.
2.Check:
V-belt 1
G
Cracks/wear/scaling/chipping → Replace.
Oil/grease → Check primary sheave and
secondary sheave.
3.Measure:
V-belt width 2
G
Out of specification → Replace.
V-belt width:
30.7 mm (1.21 in)
<Limit:> 27.6 mm (1.09 in)
