Tailgate Operation With Loss of
Power
To open the
tailgate
if the vehicle's
battery is disconnected or the voltage is
low, access the release lever. Remove
the interior trim cover on the inside of
the
tailgate.
Use a tool to push the lever
on the latch until the
tailgate

VEHICLE SECURITY

ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM
Security Indicator
Indicates the anti-theft system is
working.
The security indicator goes out when
doors are unlocked using the keyless
entry transmitter or key.

Door Lock and Anti-Theft Mode
Activation
1. Close all windows.
2. Turn the ignition key to LOCK and
remove the key.
3. Have all passengers exit the vehicle.
4. Close all doors, hood and tailgate.
5. Press and release LOCK button on
the transmitter.
The LED on the transmitter will
flash.
All doors lock.

Hazard warning lamps flash
Ÿ
once.
Anti-theft mode is activated
Ÿ
after about 30 seconds.
If the key is inserted into the
ignition key hole, the transmit-
ter will not operate the anti-theft
system.
Note
The system can be activated even if the
windows are open. Close all the windows
and doors before leaving the vehicle.
