REMOVING THE DRIVE
MOTOR

Use a
114"
Allen wrench a n d loosen t h e
rotor mounting s c r e w a s far as it will go
(the screw is captive a n d cannot b e re-
moved from the rotor). T h e rotor I s s e a t e d
on the splined tub shaft. Rock the rotor
back
and forth a n d pull it off the shaft so
it contacts the s c r e w washer-head, then
further foosen the screw. Do this until t h e

1.
Unplug w a s h e r o r disconnect power.
2.
Turn off the water supply t o the washer.
3.
Disconnect t h e hot a n d
cold
water h o s e s
from the rear of the washer, a n d remove
the e n d
of
t h e drain h o s e from t h e stand-
pipe o r laundry tub.

Tape t h e w a s h e r lid closed.
5 . Carefully lay t h e washes on
its front pan-
el. Place padding o n the floor to protect
t h e surfaces.
7.
Pull t h e
two
wire standoffs out of t h e tub
holes.
8.
Remove the four

bolts from t h e drive
motor stator assembly.
9. Pull the shield a n d the stator with t h e ltwo
round s p a c e r s (front a n d back) off t h e
tub.
