Sound Settings

From this menu you can control the sounds on the phone as well as configure the display settings.
► From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
Silent mode via Device Options Screen
Silent mode is convenient when you wish to stop the phone from making noise, in a theater for example.
In Silent Mode the speaker is muted and the phone only vibrates to notify you of incoming calls, or other
functions that normally have a defined tone or sound as an alert.
1. From the Home screen, press and hold
2. Tap either Mute, Vibrate, or Sound from the Device options screen to activate or deactivate these features
(the current mode displays).

► From the Sound screen, tap Volume and select and available option: Sound, Vibrate, or Mute.
Adjusting the Volume Settings
The Volume menu now provides access to various volume settings within one onscreen popup menu.
1. From the Sound screen, tap Volume.
2. Touch and drag the onscreen slider to assign the volume settings for any of the following volume levels:
● Ringtone, Music, video, games and other media, Notifications or System.
3. Tap OK to assign the volume levels.
Setup the Ringtones
This option allows you to set the ringtone.
1. From the Sound screen, tap Ringtones.
2. Tap a ringtone from the available list. The ringtone briefly plays when selected.
3. Tap Add to locate a compatible media file that can be used as a ringtone.
4. Tap OK to assign a ringer.
Setup the Vibration
This option allows you to set your device to vibrate and ring.
1. From the Sound screen, tap Vibrations.
2. Select a vibration pattern and tap OK.

Tap Create to then use an on-screen touch circle to create your own custom vibration pattern. Tap Save
to store the new vibration pattern.
Notifications
This option allows you to set the ringtone that will sound for notifications and alarms.
1. From the Sound screen, tap Notifications.
2. Select a ringtone and tap OK.
Setting up Vibration When Ringing
This option allows you to enable your phone to vibrate when a call is incoming.
► From the Sound screen, tap the Vibrate when ringing field to activate the feature.

Audible System Tone Settings
These options are used when you use the dialing pad, make a screen selection, lock your screen, or tap the
screen. Each time you press a key or make a selection the selected tone sounds.
1. Navigate to the Sound screen.
2. Tap Dialing keypad tone to activate a tone when you use on-screen keys. A check mark displayed next to
these features indicates active status.
3. Tap Touch sounds to activate a tone when you touch the screen. A check mark displayed next to this
feature indicates active status.
4. Tap Screen lock sound to activate a tone when you use the Lock screen. A check mark displayed next to
this feature indicates active status.
Samsung Keyboard
These options are used when you use the onscreen keypad.
1. Navigate to the Sound screen.
2. Tap Sound when tapped to activate a tone when you use on-screen keys. A check mark displayed next to
this features indicates active status.
Samsung Applications
These menu options provide a shortcut to the sound configuration screens for the listed applications.
1. Navigate to the Sound screen.
2. Tap one of the following apps to access the settings:
● Call: Allows you to modify settings for call alerts, ringtone and sound settings, and Voicemail sound
settings.
● Messages: Allows you to modify settings for the Messages app.
● Email: Allows you to modify settings for your Email accounts.
● Calendar: Allows you to modify settings for event notification in your Calendar app.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions to update your app sound settings and make adjustments to the
application's sound parameters as needed.
Music Effects
Select which music effects control panel to use when listening to music.
1. Navigate to the Sound screen.
2. Tap SoundAlive or MusicFX to use it as your default music effects control panel.

Display Settings

From this menu you can control the display on the device as well as configure the display settings.
Adjusting the Screen Display
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps >
2. Configure the following screen display settings:
● Brightness: Adjusts the onscreen brightness level.
● Font: Allows you to set the font style and font size that your device will use.
— Font style: Sets the fonts used on the LCD display. Tap Download to download additional fonts.
— Font size: Allows you to select which size of font is displayed.
● Screen rotation: When enabled, the device automatically switches from portrait to landscape orientation
and vice versa. When the setting is disabled, the device displays in portrait mode only.
● Smart stay: When activated, your screen stays on as long as you are looking at it.
