Check that the opening and closing
of the hood is smooth and that the
latch operates properly using the
hood release lever.
(ENGINE NOT RUNNING)
a) Remove the engine oil dipstick
and wipe it clean. Reinsert the
dipstick and pull it out to check
the oil level. The level should be
between the two marks.
b) Check for dirt or impurities in the
oil.
Note: If the oil level is too low, add
specified engine oil and check for
oil leaks.
Visually
check
the
through the reservoir. If low, replen-
ish the brake fluid reservoir with
FMVSS
No.116
DOT
J1703 brake fluid and check for
fluid leaks.
Brake
fluid
level
"MAX" line (within 0.2 in. [5 mm]
below).
Note: Refer to the Repair Manual
for fluid specifications.
Visually
check
the
through the coolant reservoir tank
when the engine is cool. The cool-
ant level is suitable if the level is
between
the
"FULL"
lines on the tank.
CAUTION:
To prevent burning yourself, do not
remove the radiator cap when the
engine is hot.
