About this Handbook

Intended Use

This handbook describes the Ray49E fixed VHF marine radio. The Ray49E provides
two-way communications on all International marine channels, pre-set private
channels, and (if programmed) all US and Canadian and marine channels. The
Ray49E includes equipment for Class "D" Digital Selective Calling (DSC).

Conventions Used

Throughout this handbook, the dedicated (labelled) keys are shown in bold
capitals (for example: MENU/DSC). The LCD indicators and functions are shown
in normal capitals (for example: TX).
