Informational note
Caution
Warning
Laser warning
Usage
Names of windows, dialog boxes, buttons, tabs,
and other objects in a user interface that you
click or select.
In syntax descriptions and set-off command
examples, text you must type exactly as shown
Required elements in syntax that has more
than one option. You must choose one of the
options. Do not type the braces.
Optional elements in syntax descriptions. Do
not type the brackets.
Onscreen computer output
Book titles, special terms, and words to be
emphasized
Variables in command syntax. Replace the
italic text with the appropriate real name or
value when entering the command. Do not
type the brackets.
Names of commands, files, and directories
used within the text
Separates choices for command keywords and
arguments. Enter only one choice. Do not type
the vertical line.
Description
Indicates important features or instructions.
Indicates a situation that might result in loss of data or
hardware damage.
Alerts you to the risk of personal injury or death.
Alerts you to the risk of personal injury from a laser.
