Diagnostic Action
1400 7. Position the System Unit Power switch to
Printer On. Load Advanced Diagnostic diskette.

Note: If the signal cable was connected to
a Monochrome Display and Parallel Printer
Adapter, Option 4 should be displayed. If
the cable was connected to a Parallel
Printer Adapter, Option 9 should be
displayed.
Is the correct Option (4 or 9) missing?
YES: Replace the Adapter. (See Section 3,
"Removal/Replacement.")
NO: Run the Advanced Diagnostics for
the optional adapter installed.
Did the diagnostics run error free?
YES: Go to step 8.
NO: Replace the Adapter. (See
Section 3, "Removal/
Replacement. ")
8. Check Parallel Printer Cable. (See
Section 5, "Locations.") Check all pins,
pin to pin, on Parallel Printer cable for
shorts or opens.
Any shorts or opens?
YES: Replace Parallel Printer cable.
NO:
Replace control cards in printer (see
Section 3, "Removal/Replacement").
