    1. Disconnect Battery Before you begin, always disconnect the battery negative terminal. NOTE: If the VM8013 is to be installed in a car equipped with an on- board drive or navigation computer, do not disconnect the battery cable. If the cable is disconnected, the computer memory may be lost.

    VM8013 REMOTE CONTROL The remote control will allow you to control the advanced functions of the VM8013. Operating Range The remote control sensor (19) is located near the bottom of the front panel, left of the LCD screen. The remote control can operate within a distance of 3~5m.

It should only be activated upon initial installation after all wiring is complete, or if there is a malfunction of any of the switches on the unit.
