Introducing the Switch
Back of the Switch

RPS and EPS Input Ports

The 2910al Switches support connectivity to a redundant power supply.

RPS

Currently the 2910al Switches support the HP ProCurve 620 Redundant and
External Power Supply (J8696A) for RPS power only. The External Power
Supply will provide redundant power (RPS) to the switch products to back up
the power supply in the switch in case of loss of the internal power supply.

EPS

The EPS Input Port is reserved for use with a future product. The 2910al-PoE+
Switches will support extra PoE+ (EPS) power with a product to be released
in the future. The "External Power Supply" will be an accessory product for
these Switches and will provide extra PoE+ power if needed.

Power Connector

The 2910al Switches do not have a power switch; they are powered on when
connected to an active AC power source. These switches automatically adjust
to any voltage between 100--127 and 200--240 volts and either 50 or 60 Hz.
There are no voltage range settings required.
