1 Programme chart
A programme chart in English is in the interior part of
the detergent dispenser drawer or together with the
instruction booklet..
2 Mains-on light
This light comes on when the ON/OFF button is
pressed, and goes out when it is pressed again.
3 ON/OFF button
Press this button to switch the machine on. Press it
again to switch the machine off.

4 Programme selector dial

The selector is divided into 4 sections:
• Cotton, linen
• Synthetics
• Delicates, Wool
, hand wash
• Special programmes A....D
• Reset programme O
The selector dial can be turned either clockwise or
anticlockwise.
Position E corresponds to the ENERGY SAVING
programmes and position

to "cold wash".

At the end of the programme the selector dial
must be turned to position O.

Programme Option buttons

Depending on the programme, different functions
can be combined. These must be selected after
choosing the desired programme and before
depressing the START/PAUSE button.
When these buttons are pressed, the corresponding
pilot lights come on. When they are pressed again,
the pilot lights go out.
If an incorrect option is selected, the corresponding
pilot light flashes for about 2 seconds and message
Err is displayed.
5 Prewash button
Select this option if you wish your laundry to be
prewashed before the main wash (not available for
wool and handwash cycle).
The prewash cycle ends with a short spin at 650 r.p.m.
in programmes for cotton and synthetic fabrics,
whereas in the programme for delicate fabrics the
water is only drained.
6 Spin speed button
Press this button to reduce the maximum speed of the
final spin proposed by the machine for the selected
programme or to select position
The light corresponding to the selected option
illuminates.
Maximum speeds are :
• Cotton, linen: 1000 r.p.m. for model EWS 1030
1200 r.p.m. for model EWS 1230
• Synthetic fabrics, wool, and hand wash: 900 r.p.m.
• For delicate fabrics: 700 r.p.m.
