Use the Right Batteries
Your transmitter uses AA
batteries. Use new alkaline
batteries, or rechargeable
batteries such as NiCad
or NiMH (Nickel Metal
Hydride) batteries in your
transmitter. Make sure
rechargeable batteries are
fully charged according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
If you use rechargeable
batteries in your
transmitter, be aware
that when they begin
to lose their charge, they lose
power much more quickly than
regular alkaline batteries.
Caution: Discontinue running
your Revo at the first sign of
weak batteries (flashing red
light) to avoid losing
control.
If the power indicator doesn't
light red, check the polarity
of the batteries. Check
rechargeable batteries for a
full charge.

INSTALLING TRANSMITTER BATTERIES

Your TQ 2.4GHz transmitter uses 8 AA batteries. The battery
compartment is located in the base of the transmitter.
1. Remove the battery compartment door by pressing the tab and
lifting the door up.
2. Install the batteries in the correct orientation as indicated in the
battery compartment.
3. Reinstall the battery door and snap it closed.
4. Turn on the transmitter and check the power indicator for a
solid red light.
If the power indicator light flashes, then the transmitter batteries
are weak, discharged or possibly installed incorrectly. Replace with
new or freshly charged batteries. The power indicator light does not
indicate the charge level of the RX Power Pack installed in the model.

CHARGING THE RECEIVER BATTERY

Your model includes an AC charger for the included receiver pack. It
is not a "peak detecting" charger and will not shut off automatically
when the receiver pack has reached maximum capacity. Charging the
battery while it is still installed in the model is not recommended. To
charge the battery, follow these steps:
1. Open the battery compartment by
removing the 4x10 button head
screw using a 2.5mm hex wrench (A).
2. Remove the battery from the
compartment, and unplug its
wiring harness.
3. Plug the charger into a wall outlet (B).
Choose an outlet that is in a location
where you may easily observe the battery.
Avoid placing the battery on the floor or
in other locations where someone may
accidentally damage or disconnect the
battery. When plugged in, the charger's
LED will glow green, indicating the
charger is ready to begin charging (C).
4. Plug the receiver battery into the charger.
The LED will glow red, indicating that the
battery is being charged (D).
5. Monitor the battery. A fully depleted
receiver battery will require 3-4 hours to
recharge. The battery will be warm when
fully charged. Remove the battery as soon
as you notice it has warmed. Do not leave
the battery unattended while charging.
6. When the battery is fully charged, reinstall
it by reversing steps 1 and 2.
The Revo is equipped with a charge
jack that allows the receiver pack
to be charged while it is installed in
the vehicle. This jack should be used
only with peak-detecting chargers.
Always remove the battery from
the model when using the charger
supplied with your 5309 Revo.
