    WARNING! If your power chair begins to move in an unexpected manner, immediately release the joystick. Unless the joystick is damaged, this action should stop your power chair.   • Page 29 The parking brakes have a bad connection. Check the parking brake and motor connections. Make sure the controller connections are secure. An excessive voltage has been applied to the controller. This is usually caused by a poor battery connection. Check the battery connections. Jet 7 www.pridemobility.com...

    BATTERIES AND CHARGING The Jet 7 uses two long-lasting, 12-volt, deep-cycle batteries. These batteries are sealed and maintenance free. Since they are sealed, there is no need to check the electrolyte (fluid) level. Deep-cycle batteries are designed to handle a deep discharge.
  • Page 31 If you use your power chair infrequently (once a week or less), you should charge it at least once per week for 12 to 14 hours. NOTE: Keep the batteries fully charged and avoid deeply discharging the batteries. Do not charge the batteries for more than 24 hours. Jet 7 www.pridemobility.com...
  • Page 32 Avoid temperature extremes such as freezing conditions and excessively hot conditions, and never attempt to charge a frozen battery. A cold or frozen battery should be warmed for several days prior to recharging. www.pridemobility.com Jet 7...
