Section 8: Settings

This section explains Settings for customizing your device.

Accessing Settings

To access Settings:
From a Home screen, tap
– or –
Tap the top of the screen and swipe downward to
display the Notification Panel, then tap

The Settings Screen
The Settings screen has tabs on the left side of the screen.
Information related to the tabs displays on the right side of
the screen. There are five major groups of settings:

Device
Personal
Accounts
System

Wireless and Network
Control your device's wireless connections.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that provides
access to local area networks.
Wi-Fi communication requires access to an existing
Wireless Access Point (WAP). WAPs can be Open (unsecured,
as with most hotspots) or Secured (requiring you to provide
login credentials). Your device supports the 802.11 b/g/n
Wi-Fi protocol.

Wi-Fi Direct
Wi-Fi Direct allows device-to-device connections,
allowing you to transfer large amounts of data over a
Wi-Fi connection.
