1 While the recorder is in stop mode,
openthecardcove~
2 With the microSD card facing the
correct way, insert it into the card
slot as shown in the diagram.
• Insert the microSD card,
keeping it straight.
• Inserting the microSD card in the
wrong way or at an angle could
damage the contact area or cause
the microSD card to jam.
• If the microSD card is not inserted
all the way, data may not be
recorded on the microSD card.
3 Close the card cover securely.
• When you insert the microSD
card, the recording media
changeover display will appear.
4 To record on a microSD card, press
the+ or- button and select
[Yes].
5 Press the .,..OK button to complete
the setting.
You can use the recorder not only as
a voice recorder and a music player
but also as a radio*.
* WS-803 only.
1 Press the
LIST
button repeatedly
to set the
[Home]
display.
2 Press the+ or- button to select
the mode.
3 Press the .,..OK button.
When [Recorder] is selected:
The recorder will go into
[Recorder] mode. You will be
able to record and play back files
recorded by the recorder.
When [Music] is selected:
The recorder will go into [Music]
mode, and you will be able to
play back music files transferred
to the recorder.
When [Calendar Search] is
selected:
The recorder will go into
[Calendar Search] mode, and
you can search for files according
to the recording date.
When [FM Radio]* is selected:
The recorder will go into
[FM Radio] mode, and you will
be able to receive FM radio.

1 Select a recording folder.
2 Press the
REC ( •)
button to start
recording.
• The LED indicator light turns on
and [0] appears on the display.
• Turn the microphone in the
direction ofthe source to be
recorded.

• [Rec Mode] cannot be changed
in recording standby mode or
while recording. Configure this

3 Press the
STOP (•)
button to stop
recording.

You can easily change the recording
settings by selecting the scene which
best matches your usage.
1 While the recorder is in stop mode,
press and hold the
SCENE/INDEX
button.
2 Press the + or- button to select
[Rec Scene].
3 Press the.,.. OK button.
4 Press the + or- button to select
the recording environment.
5 Press the.,.. OK button.

The recorder can play back WAV*,
MP3 and WMA format files. To play
back a file recorded with another
machine, you need to transfer (copy)
it from a computer.

from the folder that contains it.

playback.

easier to catch what is being said.

• Even if playback is stopped, the
modified playback speed and
tone are retained.
Limits offast playback
Normal operation may not be
available depending on the sampling
frequency and the bit rate of the file
to be played back. In such a case,
reduce the speed of fast playback.
