Using RDS
Displaying RDS information
You can access three kinds of RDS information and can freely switch
between them. Remember, only FM stations broadcast RDS signals, so
make sure that the tuner is receiving in the FM band.
1.
Press DISPLAY.
Press repeatedly to switch between:
RT – Radio Text
PS – Program Service name
PTY – Program Type
PTY SEARCH – Program type search (see searching for a
program type, below, for more on this)
Stop on the one you want. The display will show the RDS
information, if there is any. If the station you're listening to is
not transmitting any RDS information, you'll get the message
"NO DATA" in the display.
If you selected PTY and the display shows "NO TYPE", the
display will revert automatically to the program service name
after about 5 seconds.
Searching for a program type
One of the most useful features of RDS is the ability to search for a
particular kind of radio program. You can search for any of the types
listed on page 28. These cover all kinds of music, as well as news,
weather forecasts, sports programs, and a variety of others.

Press DISPLAY repeatedly to select

PTY SEARCH.

Use the MULTI JOG to select the
program type to search for.
Stop on the program type you want then press ENTER.

The tuner starts searching for a match-
ing station.
The tuner searches through the stations stored in the station
preset memories. If a match is found, you'll hear 5 seconds of
that station. To continue listening to it (and cancel the search)
press 7 or ENTER.
If you don't press 7 or ENTER within the 5 seconds, the
tuner resumes searching.

Affichage des informations RDS
Vous pouvez avoir accès à 3 types d'informations RDS et, à votre gré,
vous pouvez choisir entre eux. Rappelez-vous que seules les stations
FM émettent des signaux RDS. Assurez-vous donc que le tuner est réglé
à la longueur d'ondes FM.
1. Appuyez sur la touche DISPLAY.
Appuyez de façon répétée pour choisir entre:
RT – Texte Radio
PS – Nom de Service de Programme
PTY – Type de programme
PTY SEARCH – Recherche par type de programme (Pour
des détails à ce sujet, reportez-vous à "Recherche d'un type
de programme" ci-après.)
Arrêtez-vous à la station souhaitée. L'affichage indique
l'information RDS si la station en émet. Si la station que vous
écoutez n'émet pas d'informations RDS, le message "NO DATA"
apparaît sur l'affichage.
Si vous sélectionnez PTY et que l'affichage indique "NO
TYPE", l'affichage repassera automatiquement au Nom de
Service de Programme après 5 secondes environ.
Recherche d'un type de
programme
Un des atouts majeurs des informations RDS est qu'elles permettent de
rechercher un genre particulier d'émission radio. Vous pouvez
rechercher parmi les types, mentionnés à la page 28. Ils couvrent tous
les types de musique, mais aussi les informations, la météo, les sports,
etc.
1. Appuyez de façon répétée sur la touche
DISPLAY pour sélectionner PTY
SEARCH.
2. Au moyen de la bague MULTI JOG,
sélectionnez le type de programme
souhaité.
Arrêtez-vous au type de programme souhaité et appuyez sur
la touche ENTER.
3. Le tuner effectue la recherche d'une
station adaptée au type souhaité.
Le tuner parcourt les stations préréglées. S'il en trouve une
appropriée, vous l'entendrez pendant 5 secondes. Pour
continuer l'écoute de cette station (et annuler ainsi la
recherche), appuyez sur la touche 7 ou ENTER.
Si vous n'appuyez pas sur la touche 7 ou ENTER dans les 5
secondes, le tuner poursuit sa recherche.
