PERFORMANCE & MAINTENANCE
6-Speed Automatic
Transmission Controls
The 6-speed automatic transmission
has a Driver Shift Control feature that
enables the driver to select the range
of gears desired for the current driving
conditions, such as when driving on
downhill grades.
To use this feature, move the shift lever
to the Manual (M) Mode position — this
will force a downshift from the current
gear state (for gears 3–6). Press the
+ / – button on the left side of the steer-
ing wheel to select a higher or lower
driving range.
The transmission will be limited to the
gear selected and lower gears. Shifting
will occur normally while driving; how-
ever, the instrument panel cluster will
display only the maximum gear avail-
able. Higher gears will not be available
unless the selection is changed to
include higher gears using the + button.
