Computer is beeping and battery

Solving Battery Problems
Possible Cause
Your computer has entered a low-
battery condition.
Your computer has entered a low-
battery condition while low-battery
warning beeps and/or computer beeps
are turned down or off.
Solution
Save your information, exit all
applications, and turn off your
computer.
If available, immediately connect your
computer to an external power source.
If an external power source is not
available, in Windows 98, initiate
Hibernation by pressing the Power
button or let your computer go into
Hibernation automatically. Remember
that your computer has not completed
Hibernation until all lights are off.
Replace the battery pack.
Charge the battery pack.
Immediately connect your computer to
an external power source. If an
external power source is not available
and you are running Windows 98, be
sure that Hibernation is enabled, then
initiate Hibernation by pressing the
Power button or let your computer go
into Hibernation automatically. Your
computer has not completed
Hibernation until all lights are off.
To enable low-battery warning beeps,
click the Conservation Settings tab in
Power Properties and enable low-
battery warning beeps.
