Understanding Your Computer Specifications

The following sections describe how to determine the specifications of your
Prosignia 150 Notebook.

Drive Letters

Your diskette drive, hard drive, and CD/DVD drive are named using letters of
the alphabet. In addition, each drive has a picture, or icon. To determine your
drive letters, complete the following steps:
1. From the Windows desktop, double-click the My Computer
The drive icons appear in the My Computer window.
2. To make the icons bigger, click the View menu, then click Large Icons.
Next to the icons are the drive letters. Use the following icons to identify
your drive, and note the drive letter that is displayed with the icon.
Diskette drive

Hard Drive Size

To determine the capacity of your hard drive, complete the following steps:
1. From the Windows desktop, double-click the My Computer
2. In the My Computer window, right-click the Hard Drive
3. Click the Properties option. The size of the hard drive is listed on the
General tab.

Amount of Random Access Memory

To determine how much random access memory (RAM) your computer has,
complete the following steps:
1. From the Windows desktop, right-click the My Computer
2. Click Properties from the popup menu. The amount of RAM is listed
on the General tab.
