Downloading Satellite Data via QuickGPS

Before you start using your device for GPS navigation, open the QuickGPS program first to download
ephemeris data (current satellite position and timing information) to your device. QuickGPS downloads data
from a Web server using the Internet connection on your device (Wi-Fi, ActiveSync, or data services). This
significantly speeds up the time for determining your GPS position.
To open QuickGPS:
Tap Start > All Programs > QuickGPS .
To download data:
Tap Download on the QuickGPS screen.
You will initially see onscreen the Valid time of the downloaded data. As time passes, the remaining days and
hours of validity will be shown.
To speed up GPS positioning, download the latest ephemeris data when the validity of the data expires.
Download Options
To configure download times, tap Menu > Options and choose from the available options:
Remind me when data expires
ephemeris data has expired. When you see the reminder message, tap Menu to dismiss the reminder or to
set the snooze time so that you will be reminded again. Tap OK to open the QuickGPS program and
download the latest data.
Auto download when data expires
the data has expired.
Auto download when connected to PC via ActiveSync
via ActiveSync to your device when your device is connected to your computer. Your computer must be
connected to the Internet in order to download data.
Exit QuickGPS after downloading
Note
The data is stored on Web servers. QuickGPS is preconfigured to connect to these servers.

Using Sprint Navigation

utilizes GPS positioning technology and access to Sprint's wireless data network to provide
Sprint Navigation™
you with driving directions and a host of other services including:
GPS navigation that gives you turn-by-turn directions to any destination address in the continental United
States. If you miss a turn or get off track, Sprint Navigation will calculate a new route for you. You can
enter a destination address by using Sprint Navigation's automatic voice recognition system or by typing
on the your device's onscreen keypad.
Audio and visual traffic alerts while driving or viewing maps, as well as traffic rerouting capabilities to
minimize delays.
Maps of the area around your current location, a marked Favorite, or an address you enter manually or
have previously entered. You can pan the map (adjust left/right/up/down) and zoom in or out.
. Enables your device to display a reminder message when the validity of the
. Allows ephemeris data to be automatically updated onto your device when
. Allows ephemeris data to be automatically downloaded
. Closes QuickGPS after satellite data is downloaded.
