Using PERC CLI

This topic introduces the concept of using the Dell PowerEdge RAID Controller Command Line Interface
(CLI) method for managing RAID controllers, performing a variety of controller and enclosure specific
operations, and configuring the PERC cards.

Using CLI Commands From Windows Command Prompts

Follow these procedures to access the command prompt in systems using Windows Microsoft operating
system:
NOTE: Ensure that you copy the perccli.exe and perccli64.exe files to C:\Windows\System32.
1.
Click on Start.
2.
Search for Run and click on the Run icon.
The Run window is displayed.
3.
In the Open field, type cmd and click okay.
The Administrator: Command Prompt window is displayed, where you can execute the PERC CLI
commands.

Using CLI Commands From Linux

Follow these procedures to access the command prompt in systems using Linux operating system:
1.
To install the percli RPM, run rpm -ivh <percli-x.xx-x.noarch.rpm>.
2.
To upgrade the percli RPM, run rpm -Uvh <percli-x.xx-x.noarch.rpm>.
3.
Install cd to /opt/MegaRAID/perccli.
4.
As a root user, run ./perccli.
