The Maxtor D740X-6L hard disk drives allow their host systems to address the full set
of command and control registers as specified in ATA/ATAPI-6 section 7.

The µProcessor, Disk Controller, and ATA Interface electronics are contained in a
proprietary ASIC developed by Maxtor as shown in Figure 5-3.
The Maxtor D740X-6L hard disk drives support all the mandatory commands from
the general feature set for non-packet devices. They are:
