Replacing the internal speaker

This section provides instructions on how to replace the internal speaker.

Attention
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the
"Important safety information" in the ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide that came with
your computer. To obtain a copy of the ThinkCentre Safety and Warranty Guide, go to:

1. Open the computer cover. See "Opening the cover" on page 127.
2. Remove the front bezel by releasing the three tabs.
3. Pivot the drive bay assembly upward to gain access to the internal speaker.
See "Accessing system board components and drives" on page 128.
4. Locate the internal speaker. See "Computer components" on page 125.
5. Disconnect the internal speaker cable and the thermal sensor cable from the
internal speaker connector and the thermal sensor connector on the system
board. See "System board connectors" on page 126.
6. Push the four tabs 1 on the bottom of the internal speaker one by one to
release the internal speaker, and then lift the internal speaker 2 straight up
to completely remove it from the chassis.
7. Remove the thermal sensor cable latched on the bottom of the old internal
speaker and install it on the new internal speaker.
