Out-of-Band Management Port

The Out-of-Band (OOB) management port is a 10/100/1000BASE-T
Ethernet port dedicated to remote switch management. Traffic on this port is
segregated from operational network traffic on the switch ports and cannot be
switched or routed to the operational network.

Power Supplies

Each PowerConnect 8024/8024F switch has two power supplies for redundant
or loadsharing operation. Each power supply can support 300W.
CAUTION:
module itself. Power must not be connected prior to insertion in the chassis.

Ventilation System

The PowerConnect 8024/8024F has three removable FANs (see
"PowerConnect 8024 Rear Panel" on page 83), four Thermal sensors, and a
FAN Speed Controller which can be used to control FAN speeds. You can
verify operation by observing the LEDs.
