Restoring the factory contents by using Product Recovery discs When the hard disk drive (HDD) or solid state drive (SSD) is replaced because of a failure, no Product Recovery program is on the new drive.

    If the LCD you are servicing has two or less visible defective pixels, it should not be considered faulty. However, if the LCD has three or more visible defective pixels, it will be deemed as defective by Lenovo and it should be replaced.

    Some models of the ThinkPad X220 and X220i you are servicing might have the SIM card that the customer has been installed. If the computer you are servicing has the SIM card, remove it before you start the servicing. To remove the SIM card, you need to remove the battery pack first. (See “1010 Battery pack” on page 62.) After you finish the servicing, make sure that you insert the card back into the slot firmly.

    The only exception to this is if the battery pack is physically damaged or a customer is reporting a possible safety issue.
