Input/output Device Settings for Your Application
You'll need to specify the MIDI device that you'll be using with your application. (For details
on how to make these settings, refer to the instruction manual that came with your
application.)
* If you're unable to select the UM-3G device in the device settings of your application, it may be
that a problem has occurred. Refer to "Troubleshooting" (p. 27).

* The UM-3G's unit number will be added to the actual device name.

Settings for Using the UM-3G with Windows Media Player

Open the Control Panel, click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices, and then click
the Sounds and Audio Devices.
* If you're using the Classic view, double-click the Sound and Audio Devices icon.

Click the Audio tab.

In the MIDI Music Playback field, click

If you select "1(UM-3G(1))," the sound module connected to the UM-3G's MIDI 1 MIDI OUT/
THRU connector can be played by Media Player.
* The number "(1)" at the end of the device name is the UM-3G's UNIT number. This value will
depend on the setting of the [UNIT] switch.

Click [OK] to close Sounds and Audio Devices Properties.

Start up Windows Media Player, and select and play a MIDI file.
