Registering and de-registering handsets

Registering and de-registering handsets
You can register up to four handsets on your base. The E 1 handset
can only be registered on one base however.
Registering an E 1 handset is automatic. You can also register the
E 1 handset manually however. Handsets in the Gigaset family
and handsets made by other manufacturers must be registered
manually.
You can also register your E 1 handset on other GAP bases. Note
that the emergency call function will not work in this case. None
of the menu options that relate to the emergency call function or
to settings of the base will be displayed.

Automatic registration: Gigaset E 1 on Gigaset E 150

To register your handset for the first time, place it in the base with
the display up. Registration takes around one minute. Registra-
tion Procedure flashes in the display while registration is in
progress. The handset will be automatically assigned the lowest
unassigned internal number (1–4). If more than one handset is
registered, this number will be displayed at the top right of the
display. If all internal numbers 1–4 have been assigned (four
handsets are registered on a base), the number 4 is overwritten if
that handset is in idle status.

Manual registration: Gigaset E 1 on Gigaset E 150

You must initiate handset registration on the handset and on the
base.
