Note
• On the ch1 and ch2 settings the sound comes only
from the center speaker (or from the front speakers if
CENTER –– was selected for the center speaker
setting.
• This setting works only with dual mono encoded
Dolby Digital or DTS soundtracks. See the disc
packaging for channel information.
Input attenuator setting
When playing analog sources, if the sound is distorting
(or when you see the OVER indicator light in the display),
switch on the input attenuator. Each input has its own
attenuator setting; set it for the currently selected input.
• IN. ATT OFF – Input attenuator is off
• IN. ATT ON – Input attenuator is on
Coaxial input setting
Specifies which receiver function the coaxial input
(DVD(TV/SAT) COAX jack) relates to:
• COAX DVD – Assigns the input to the receiver's DVD
function
• COAX TV/SAT – Assigns the input to the receiver's
TV/SAT function (the optical input is automatically
set to DVD)

Optical input setting
Specifies which receiver function the optical input (TV/
SAT(DVD) OPT1 jack) relates to:
• OPT1 TV/SAT – Assigns the input to the receiver's
TV/SAT function
• OPT1 DVD – Assigns the input to the receiver's DVD
function (the coaxial input is automatically set to TV/
SAT)

• You cannot assign the other optical input (DVR/VCR
OPT2 jack).

SR+ control for Pioneer plasma displays

Make the following settings if you have connected a
Pioneer plasma display to this receiver using the
supplied SR+ cable. Note that the number of function
settings available will depend on the plasma display
you've connected.

Volume control setting
• VOL C OFF – The receiver does not control the
volume of the plasma display
• VOL C ON – When the receiver is switched to one of
the inputs that use the plasma display (DVD, or
another one of functions listed below), the volume on
the plasma display is muted so only sound from the
receiver is heard.
Function setting for DVD input
• DVD:1 – DVD:5 or TV – Matches the DVD function of
the receiver with a numbered video input on the
plasma display. For example, DVD:3 matches the
DVD input with video input 3 on the plasma display.
Function setting for
TV/SAT
• SAT:1 – SAT:5 or TV – Matches the TV/SAT function
of the receiver with a numbered video input on the
plasma display. For example, SAT:1 matches the TV/
SAT input with video input 1 on the plasma display.
Function setting for DVR/VCR input
• DVR:1 – DVR:5 or TV – Matches the DVR/VCR
function of the receiver with a numbered video input
on the plasma display. For example, DVR:2 matches
the DVR/VCR input with video input 2 on the plasma
display.
Function setting for VIDEO input
• VIDEO:1 – VIDEO:5 or TV – Matches the VIDEO
function of the receiver with a numbered video input
on the plasma display. For example, VIDEO:TV
matches the VIDEO input with TV on the plasma
display.
Function setting for FRONT input
• FRONT:1 – FRONT:5 or TV – Matches the
function of the receiver with a numbered video input
on the plasma display. For example, FRONT:4

input with video input 4 on the
plasma display.
Note
• You won't be able to control the input if you switch
the function setting off (– shows in the display), even
if the SR+ feature is switched on.
