White Balance

The brightness of the light reflected by the objects depends on the lighting
temperatures and the human eye adaption; therefore, a white object will
look white to human no matter under what lighting conditions (sunny, cloudy,
and bulb lighting). However, for digital video cameras, there are different
white colors under different lighting conditions because RGB value varies for
each kind of white color. To get close vision of human eyes, the DV camera
adjusts the balance of the ambient light around the objects. This adjustment
process is referred as matching the white balance.
There are 3 white balance settings in the Record mode:
Auto: adjusting the white balance automatically. It is
applicable to general-purpose photography.
Indoor: applicable to indoor photography.
Outdoor: applicable to outdoor (a sunny day)
photography.
