Cutting Dadoes with a Dado Blade

Always use push sticks, featherboards,
push paddles and other safety accessories
whenever possible to increase safety and
control during operations that require the
blade guard and spreader to be removed
from the saw. ALWAyS replace the blade
guard after dadoing is complete.
Model g0690/g0691 (Mfg. 11/10+)
To cut a dado with a dado blade:
1.
adjust the dado blade to the desired depth of
cut.
2.
adjust the distance between the fence and the
inside edge of the blade, as shown in Figure
59, to dado the length of a workpiece.
if dadoing across the workpiece, use the
miter gauge and carefully line up the
desired cut with the dado blade. do Not
use the fence in combination with the miter
gauge.
3.
reconnect the saw to the power source.
4.
turn the saw ON. the blade should run
smooth, with no vibrations.
5.
When the blade has reached full speed, per-
form a test cut with a scrap piece of wood.
6.
if the cut is satisfactory, repeat the cut with
the actual workpiece.
