TV tour

High Definition TV
You can watch HD video content in these
ways and more:
a Blu-ray disc player, connected with a
HDMI cable, playing a Blu-ray disc
an upscaling DVD player, connected
with a HDMI cable, playing a DVD disc
an over-the-air HD broadcaster
(SBTVD-T)
a digital HD receiver, connected with
an HDMI cable, playing HD content
from a cable or satellite operator
a HD channel on your network
a HD game console (for example, X-
Box 360 or PlayStation 3), connected
with an HDMI cable, playing a HD
game
Ambilight
This section is only for PFL7xx7 series.
Ambilight gives a more relaxed viewing
experience. It automatically adjusts the color
and brightness of the light to match the TV
picture. Read more in Use your TV >
Ambilight (Page 18).
3D TV
This section is only for PFL6xx7 and
PFL7xx7 series.
This is a 3D TV. Connect your TV to a 3D
Blu-ray disc player or tune into a TV channel
that broadcasts programs in 3D. You can
also convert 2D images into 3D.

Smart TV
You can make your TV the center of your
digital life with the Smart TV suite of
applications:
If you connect your TV to the home
network, you can share movies,
pictures, and music from a computer or
media server on your home network.
If you connect your TV to the Internet,
you can enjoy a wealth of streaming
movies, pictures, music, and much more
with Youtube and other Smart TV
applications.
While you watch a digital channel, you
can pause TV at any time and catch up
with the broadcast later. The broadcast
is stored on a USB hard disk or
streamed through catch-up TV
applications in Smart TV.
If you connect your TV to the Internet,
you can record your favorite TV show
on a USB hard disk.
Skype™ on your TV. Connect the
Philips video camera, PTA317/00 (sold
separately) to this TV. Talk face-to-face
with live video for Free.
You can also use Philips smartphone
control to control your TV. To
download the application 'Philips
MyRemote', visit the Apple App store
or the Android Market.
Media playback
If you connect your TV to a USB storage
device, you can enjoy your movies, music,
and pictures on a wide screen TV with
excellent sound.
You can also connect your PC to the TV
with an HDMI and VGA cable.
TV guides
You can find out what's on and what's
coming up, with the now and next EPG
(Electronic Program Guide), or eight day
EPG.
TV guides are provided by broadcasters or
over the Internet. If you connect your TV to
the Internet, you can access more extensive
program details.
