11. Press the release tab toward the front of the printer, while pushing the rear of the cover up with your
thumb and lifting slightly on the front. As the cover is released and begins to move upward, remove
your hand from under the printer and lift the cover up and off.
Note: You might have to rock the main cover back and forth slightly to get it free of the printer unit.

Installing the main cover

This section provides information for installing the main cover on a fiscal printer.
To install the main cover, complete the following steps:
1. Ensure that the paper door is in the closed position, with the paper door cover removed.
2. Slide the main cover down over the unit until the main cover release tab snaps into place.
Note: You might have to rock the main cover back and forth slightly to get it onto the unit.
3. Orient the printer so that it is upside down on the work surface and install the fiscal security bar:
a. Orient the security bar so the tab on the bar is aligned with the slot in the cover.
b. Insert the tab into the slot and rotate opposite end of the bar into position on the cross member.
c. Align the small mounting hole with the hole on the cross member.
d. Using a screw, secure the security bar in place.
4. If necessary, install the fiscal tray (see "Installing the fiscal tray" on page 29 for information).
