• Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. • Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool.
WARNING. After switching off the machine, the cutting device continues to rotate for a few more seconds. • Only use the original type of nylon line. Under no circumstances use metal line instead of nylon. • Do not use the machine to cut grass which is not on the ground.
Before using the line trimmer, familiarise yourself with all the operating features and safety requirements. This line trimmer is to be used for trimming soft, new growth only. Use the tool and accessories only for the applications intended. All other applications are expressly ruled out.
Note. If the two shafts do not fully fit together, rotate the head of the line trimmer to assist in aligning the drive shafts. 2. Tighten the upper shaft section to the lower shaft by turning the shaft locking knob (11) clockwise and firmly gripping the shaft locking nut (17).
1. Make sure that the work area is free of rocks, debris, lines and other foreign objects. 2. To start the line trimmer, first push the lock-off button (13) and then press the trigger switch (3). To switch off the trimmer simply release the starting switch. Start the machine before approaching the grass to be cut.
To fit the extension cord to the support, make a loop in the extension cord and fit the loop into the curved recess at the back of the line trimmer. Push the loop downwards so it fits securely into the round cut away section.
2. Do not store in a nylon bag as this can encourage the formation of mould. 3. At the end of the season, give the trimmer an overall cleaning and a thorough check. 4. Do not leave the trimmer resting on the floor for extended periods as it could cause the shape of the guard to alter, posing a safety risk.
