“Off ” postition. All other times it is recommended to charge the battery while the device is in the “On” position. 1. Insert the Home Charger plug into “Charging Jack” on your Gemtek (See “Description of Device” on page 3 for location of jack).
2. When calling the device from one of the stored numbers in either speed dial, the Gemtek recognizes these numbers and automatically responds with a busy signal. The location of the Gemtek will then be sent to the phone that requested the device’s location.
Speed Dial Buttons. Example: The device is able to call Dad’s cell phone, Mom’s cell phone or Gemini by pressing and holding the desired speed dial button until the device beeps once.
Only numbers stored in the Speed Dial Buttons may request a position. Example: Mom’s Cell Phone calls the device. The Gemtek recognizes Mom’s Cell as a speed dial number and a message is sent to Mom’s Cell with the location of the device.
(See “Alarm Settings” in your online account.) Example: John presses the SOS button. The Gemtek sends a message with its location to the contact(s) set to receive alert notification when the SOS button has been pressed.

Receiving/Testing Signals Receiving GPS & GSM (cellular) Signals Every time you turn your device on, it immediately starts searching for a GPS signal, then a GSM (cellular) signal. The following light sequence indicates which signals have been received: 1. Signal light stays solid blue up to 1 - 1.5 minutes while device is in start up mode and searching for a GPS signal.

Helpful Hints • For optimum performance, you should keep your Gemtek in the “On” position at all times, even while charging the battery. It is only required to charge the battery in the “Off ” position the first time. • Charging light will always be orange when the device is in the “On” position while charging, even when the battery is fully charged.
