Thank you for choosing this coffee machine. To get the very
best out of your new coffee machine it is advisable to read
these instructions before using the appliance. This is the only
way to ensure optimum results and maximum safety.

Using for the first time

Before using the machine for the first time, wash all the acces-
sories in warm soapy water and rinse. For the best tasting coffee
the internal circuits must be flushed through at least five times.To
do this follow the instructions in the paragraph "Preparing the fil-
ter coffee" using just water.
To wash the steam boiler, fill the small carafe with water up to
level "4" indicated on the "WATER LEVEL" side, then pour the
water into the boiler and close rotating firmly the safety cap. Press
the cappuccino button and after 5 minutes open the steam knob;
leave the steam knob opened until no more steam comes out: this
means that there is no more water in the boiler.

Installation

• Place the coffee maker on a flat work surface at a safe distance
from taps and sinks.
• After having positioned the appliance on the work bench, make
sure that there is a free space of around 20 cm between the
surfaces of the appliance and the side and rear walls and a free
space of at least 25 cm above the coffee maker.
• Check that the voltage corresponds to that indicated on the
appliance rating plate.The appliance must always be connected
to a well-earthed socket rated at 10A minimum.The manufac-
turer is not liable for damage caused by inadequate earthing of
the appliance.
• In the event of incompatibility between the plug on the appli-
ance and the socket, have the plug replaced by a qualified pro-
fessional.The power cable for this appliance must not be
replaced by the user, in that this operation requires the use of
special tools. In the event of damage, only contact a service cen-
tre authorised by the manufacturer so as to avoid any risks.
• Never install the machine in an environment that can reach a
temperature less than or equal to 0°C (if the water in it
freezes, the coffee maker may be damaged).
