VENTILATION AIR AIR FOR Ventilation Air from Inside Building COMBUSTION This fresh air would come from an adjoining unconfined space. When ventilating to an adjoining unconfined space, you must provide two permanent openings: one within 12" of the ceiling and one within 12" of the floor on the wall connecting the two spaces (see VENTILATION options 1 and 2, Figure 3).

INSTALLING 2. Install gas piping to fireplace location. This installation includes an approved flexible gas line (if allowed by local codes) after the manual shutoff valve. Make sure fireplace screen is installed before running fireplace. NOTICE During initial operation of new fireplace, burning logs will give off a paper-burning smell. Orange flame will also be present.
OPERATING 8. Turn control knob counterclockwise to the LOW position. The front C-clockwise burner should light. Set control knob to either HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW. To turn FIREPLACE control knob from LOW to a higher setting, press in the control knob and turn counterclockwise .
INSPECTING Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame patterns often. PILOT FLAME PATTERN BURNERS Figure 28 shows a correct pilot flame pattern. Figure 29 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool.
