Audio controls

1. VOLUME – Knob
2. AM/FM – Audio source selection
3. CD/MD – Audio source selection
4. TUNING – Knob
5. SOUND – Button
Volume
Use VOLUME (1) or the steering wheel
keypad to regulate the volume, see page 52.
Audio volume adjusts automatically
depending on vehicle speed, see page 188.
Audio source
Audio source is selected with CD/MD (3) or
AM/FM (2). Repeatedly pressing AM/FM
moves between FM1, FM2 and AM . The
selected audio source appears on the
display.
Audio settings
Adjusting audio settings
– Press SOUND (5). Scroll among audio
settings by pressing SOUND again.
– Turn TUNING (4) to adjust the level.
The following audio settings are available via
SOUND:
• BASS – Bass level.
• TREBLE – Treble level.
• FADER – Balance between the front and
rear speakers.
• BALANCE – Balance between the left
and right-hand speakers.

• SUBWOOFER – Bass speaker level.
The woofer must be activated before
adjustment is possible. See page 187.

• CENTRE – Centre speaker level. Three
channel stereo or Pro Logic II must be
activated before adjustment is possible,
see page 187.

• SURROUND – Surround sound level.

Activating/deactivating the subwoofer
– Press MENU and then ENTER.
– Scroll to Audio settings and press
ENTER.
– Scroll to Subwoofer and press ENTER.
Surround

Surround settings govern the
spatial perception of the sound.
Settings for FM radio and CD/MD
player are stored individually.
NOTE! If FM radio reception becomes poor,
two or three-channel stereo may provide
better sound quality than surround sound.
The Dolby icon in the display indicates that
Dolby Pro Logic II is active. There are three
different settings for surround sound:
• Pro Logic II
• 3 channel
• Off – two-channel stereo.
