    It is the easier of the two and additional accessories may not be needed. The advanced hookup shows the VCR hooked up to a TV with audio and video jacks, with the hookup on page 6 using a signal splitter. The advanced hookup may improve the picture quality as well as convenience of operation.

    Using the Playback Features Auto Play Feature This feature lets you tell the VCR whether you want it to automatically start playing a tape that is inserted with the safety tab removed. 1. Press MENU on the remote to see the VCR MAIN MENU on the TV screen.

    Manual Tracking Occasionally, you may need to manually adjust tracking on a tape recorded on a different VCR or camcorder. Tracking is used when playing a tape, and it has no effect during recording. • When streaks or snow appear in the picture, press TRACKING up or down on the remote or the VCR for the best possible picture.

    Using the Playback Features DISPLAY Button The DISPLAY button shows the status of the VCR channel number, time counter, date, time and tape speed on the TV screen. The time and date must be set before they can be displayed.
