Press the
button.
You can immediately shoot the image using the
selected AF frame by pressing the shutter
button instead of pressing
The AF frame will move back to its original
position (Center), if you hold down the
button.
Turn the LCD monitor on to set the AF frame to
the position you desire before shooting.
The AF frame is locked to center-point when
using the digital zoom or when an image is
shot using the viewfinder with the LCD monitor
off.
When [Spot AE Point] is selected as the light
metering mode, you can use the selected AF
frame as the spot AE point (p. 78).

button.

Switching between Light Metering Modes

The camera divides images into several
zones for light metering. The camera
evaluates the complex lighting conditions,
such as the position of the subject, the
Evaluative
brightness, the background, the direct light,
Light
and the backlighting, and adjusts the
Metering
settings to the correct exposure for the main
subject.
This mode is particularly well-suited for
backlit conditions and general photography.
Center-
Averages the exposure from the entire image,
Weighted
but places more weight on the subject at the
Averaging
center.
Spot AE Point Meters the area within the spot AE point
frame.
Locks the spot metering frame to the center
Center
of the LCD monitor.
AF Point
Moves the spot AE point to the AF frame.
