Rear Wheel Removal

1. Support the motorcycle securely, raise
the rear wheel off the ground.
2. Loosen the drive chain lock nuts ( ) and
drive chain adjusting nuts ( ).
3. Remove the rear axle nut ( ).
4. Remove the drive chain ( ) from the
driven sprocket by pushing the rear
wheel forward.

5. Remove the rear axle shaft ( ), side
collars and rear wheel from the swingarm.
1 Do not depress the brake pedal while the
2 wheel is off the motorcycle. The caliper
3 piston will be forced out of the cylinder with
4 subsequent loss of brake fluid. If this occurs,
servicing of the brake system will be
necessary. See your dealer for this service.
