SECTION 3—SAFETY INSPECTION
As with any vehicle, the wheels and tires should be checked periodically for cracks and wear and
should be replaced.
❑ Ensure the hand brakes do not interfere with the tires when rolling.
Inspect/Adjust Periodically
❑ Ensure the transport chair rolls straight (no excessive drag or pull to one side).
❑ Inspect the seat and the back upholstery for rips or sagging.
❑ Ensure that there is no excessive side movement or binding when the rear wheels are lifted and spun.
❑ Ensure the wheel bearings are clean and free of moisture.

❑ Ensure the hand brakes are easy to engage.
❑ Clean the upholstery and armrests.

After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching hardware is
tightened securely. Otherwise, injury or damage can result.
DO NOT overtighten the hardware attaching to the frame. This could cause damage to the
frame tubing.
